PRS ProPocket 

Problem:

• The pocket in a lacrosse head must be as deep as possible for good ball control, but may not allow the ball to sit below the bottom rail of the head.

Prior Art:

• Prior art taught the use of a ball with a handle designed to be pushed into the net repeatedly to achieve the correct pocket depth. It could not be left in the net for storage.

• Another solution is the so called “knife and ball” which does not hold the ball securely or in the optimum position.

Solution: 

• An experienced lacrosse player had the idea for a simple injection molded part that was designed to fit between the bottom rails of the lacrosse head and hold the ball in an optimum legal position.

Delivered:

• 3D solid model design, CNC machined prototypes, 3D printing prototypes, market research, provisional patent filed, production volume quotes, website domain name and product name suggestions. Product is ready for the marketplace.

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Limiting “Smart” Sports helmet: Product Realization Specialties, LLC

Problem: 

• In 2005, Omalu published his first paper, reporting he found CTE in Webster, who had died of a heart attack after enduring an array of behavioral disturbances for years after his retirement.

• When the movie “Concussion” came out in Nov 2015, essentially no progress had been made in reducing CTE from football injuries.

Working Solution: 

• A “smart” helmet was conceived with an internal bladder, electronically controlled relief valves, accelerometers on helmet and head, a microprocessor and a method for customizing the operation to minimize CTE and eliminate concussions for each individual hit and player.
